Special Effects Lighting

Towards 2000 has the largest inventory of special effects and disco lighting on the west coast. This less intelligent lighting typically used in nightclubs, has many other applications in the film and special events industries. Most units will operate automatically with music trigger.


Special Effects - - -

Most of the lighting shown here is primarily designed for nightclub usage, however, there are many more widespread applications. These fixtures are excellent for creating specialty effects for special events, TV or film. Carefully designed usage can create atmospheres for scenes or projects far removed from nightclub environments. Space scenes, time tunnels, stage effects and changing virtual environments are just a few. Visit our showrooms to see them in action.

Neon Dance Floor - - -

The Neon Lighted Dance Floor is an exciting addition to any special event, party, fashion show or set. The 3 ft. x 4 ft. panels can be connected in any configuration to create unique patterns. Each panel has 4 pieces of colored neon set into the center beneath a plexiglass sheet. The body of the floor is black and the lighted panels can be mixed with the solid ones for added effect. Each panel of neon can be controlled to enable the whole floor to chase, and flash to the music. The floor is raised only about two inches.

Sound & DJ Equipment - - -

Don't forget, as well as the more unusual in lighting and effects, Towards 2000 also offers traditional industrial audio equipment to concert sound. From the beginning we have specialized in the DJ and mobile DJ markets. We have mixing systems, coffins, speakers, and amps from manufacturers such as Technics, Stanton, MTX, Numark, Rane, Vestax, Denon, Sony, American DJ, ElectroVoice, Celestian and many more.

Our full inventory of sound equipment includes a complete selection of speaker from small background cabinets to our Meyer concert PA system. The list includes amps, mixers, wireless mics, portable PA systems, DJ equipment, tape decks, CD players and cables.

The equipment can either be picked up from our warehouse or delivered. Installation and operation can be arranged.

 

70's Disco Effects - - -

We have a huge inventory of 70's disco style lighting from 48 inch mirror balls to spinning Cosmos balls, helicopter lights, rainlights, chase lights and neon sticks. Visit our disco showroom!

Bubble Machines - - -

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles! Self contained unit uses regular kids bubble fluid to produce hundreds of bubbles on demand. Use with floor fan for added effect. CAUTION: causes wetting of area below machine if used continuously. Fluid is available at Towards 2000 or at any convenience, toy or drug store.

Fiber Optic Curtains - - -

Fiber optic drapes or star drops provide an elegant backdrop to any stage and can be hung just like any other drape. The black fire proof fabric is specked with fiber optics that when used in conjunction with a color changing fixture can provide twinkling, chasing or static stars of any color. The panels can be hung from either edge depending on the application. Standard sizes are 12.5 ft. x 20 ft. Larger areas can be covered by using several curtains and when control is linked together, the curtain will appear seamless. Each panel requires 2 illuminating sources, typically High End Systems' Color Pro or the Light Pump listed below.

Light Pump - - -

LP Halogen

The LP is very unique in the industry in that two different lamps are interchangeable with no other modifications necessary. This unit is available with either a 175 watt or 200 watt quartz halogen lamp. The LP Halogen is available with two different fiber connector options. The unit is available with white light, permanent color, continuous color wheel or Color on Command options. Both indoor and outdoor models are available.
