Please Note
The AF 1000 is a very bright, dimmable DMX controlled strobe. It is MOST IMPORTANT to note that it has a DUTY CYCLE and will TIME OUT if it is run at full brightness for extended bursts - it is essential to balance the bursts between fixtures or balance slower flashing with higher brightness etc.. also - The AF1000 may not run off a generator. Due to the momentary power required sometimes (depending on the plant), there may not be the power for the split second the amperage is required! House power is suggested. There are three modes of operation which is changed by altering the dip switches #3,4&5 of personality - this will allow you to run the AF1000 in either 1, 2 or 3 channel DMX modes. AF1000 1 channel DMX Mode Personality DIP switch 3 On Each AF1000 uses 1 channel of DMX - this is the simplest mode and on a 16 channel board with bump buttons (OUR DMX 16) allows the operator to simply flash each strobe individually at full brightness. Keeping the MASTER fader at around 60% will pretty much ensure that the fixture will not time out. AF1000 2 channel DMX Mode Personality DIP switch 3 & 4 On Each AF1000 uses 2 channels of DMX - giving the operator control over duration and intensity of flash AF1000 3 channel DMX Mode Personality DIP Switch 3,4 & 5 On Each AF1000 uses 3 channels of DMX - giving the operator control over duration, intensity and speed of flash AF1000 3 channel DMX Mode For Example - 3 channel mode Make sure Personality switches 3,4,5, are on Address first AF1000 - all address switches down Second - 1,2 up Third - 2,3 up Fourth - 4 up - Next fixture settings - See chart First Channel - Intensity Second Channel - Duration Third Channel - Rate
This DMX controller is perfectly suited to running a small number of Strobe Fixtures - 16 individual units in the 1 channel DMX mode, 8 in the 2 channel mode and 5 in the 3 channel mode. Remember you can always address the strobe fixtures with the same address if more strobes are required and individual control of each fixture is not necessary.
There are a number of pre programmed chases that you will find will create some good effects. Just hit any of the pre-program buttons. ADVICE - keep the master fader at about 60% this will keep the intensity and speed from maximum and reduce the chance of time-outs on the AF1000s. You can create custom programs on any of the preset buttons either as single scenes or chases. Hit Program key and then the preset button you wish to program - led will flash. Move the any of the faders to where you want the scene to be. Hit the program button again. Step one is saved. Now move the faders for your second scene. Hit program key. Second scene is saved. Continue the same for as many scenes as you desire. When finished hit the Blackout key. This ends the programming. Now hit the preset key you programmed and the scenes will play back. You can adjust the playback speed by using the fader or by punching the Tap Sync key five times to set the beat. You can overlay chases. You can set Glide which will fade in and out steps. The memory is non-volatile so your programs will remain in memory even after the console is turned off. .
